6′ 8″ Samuel Ouedraogo commits to TCI in NYC

Posted by Jack Whitehead on May 15, 2010

Sam Former Cape Coast Hoops player Samuel Ouedraogo has accepted a scholarship today to the Technical Careers Institute (TCI) in New York City. TCI plays at the D1 level of the NJCAA.

The 6′ 8″ forward moved to the states last year and was scheduled to participate in our 2010 Showcase. Due to work commitments he could only attend the showcase prior to the 1st game but he did workout for a few coaches that morning. Coach Pernell Hosier of TCI took one look at the very active big man and knew he had a player. The next day “Big Sam” was at TCI talking to Coach Hosier about playinig for TCI this upcoming season. Says a source close to the player ”Sam is a very athletic and energtic post player that brings every thing he has to every play. He can dominate games at times and once he puts it all together he will be a force for TCI.”

Sam is a bit too old to play Div 1 after his career at TCI so we will be helping him find a good fit at the NAIA or Div 2 level.

Bilal Kelly, 6′ 8″ F, Redlands CC

Posted by Jack Whitehead on August 31, 2009

Bilal Kelly, a former Strawberry Mansion star and now at Redlands Community College has checked in with the staff at Runhouse and Rasool Hajj. Kelly reports that the college workouts are ”very intense with a lot of running”. While classes may start at 9am that is by no means the beginning of the day for the lean athletic forward. Kelly also says that the “team gets up at 5:30am to run then workout with positional drills”

Kelly was an attendee of our 1st summer workout and earned his scholarship off the video of that workout that Rasool sent to the coach at Redlands.

Bilal, make sure with the day beginning at 5:30am that your going to bed early and that hard work will pay off. Perhaps you can join your brother at the next stop on your journey. Check back with us soon and let us know how the team is doing.
