We just got word that Tyreek Riddick of state champs Math, Civics and Science (MCS) has committed to play for Mansfield University. Riddick played very well in the 2011 Showcase and chose Mansfield over a number of Div 1 junior colleges. MCS Athletic Director Lonnie Diggs informed us that in addition to an athletic scholarship he also received an academic scholarhsip. It’s always good to hear when one of our Philly student/athletes takes the academic part seriously.
Check back soon for more posts on commitments of other 2011 Showcase Players and also a few more commitments from the Urban Sports Rescue Program.

Star Power has arrived to the Runhouse-Hoops program by way of 6′ 7″ swingman Reggie Agbeko. The Ashanti Assassin continues to prove he is serious about playing basketball in the USA by leading his St Joe’s team to a 69 - 48 win over St Francis. Agbeko’s stats for the game read 16 points, 18 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals. Not bad for a kid with only about 35 games to his name.
Our Runhouse-Hoops project is composed of players from our West African pipeline at Cape Coast Hoops. This weeks player of the week is none other than Daniel Armah. The rugged 6′ 6″ forward is averaging 14 ppg and 11 rpg for Lincoln University (MO). His games in the last two weeks have included a 16 pt and 16 rebound game vs Rockhurst and a 21 pt and 13 rebound game vs Neuman.
