Rugged 6′ 5″ forward Mamadou “Mama” Diakite has committed to play for Beaver County Community College next year. Beaver coach DeWayne Walker got a good look at Mama during our 2011 Showcase and was very impressed with him. Diakite showed alot of determination and toughness to go along with a nice shooting stroke. Coach Walker stated ” We are thrilled about signing Mamadou. This is a young man that exhibits all the qualities that our program stands for. He is a hard worker and will no doubt play an integral role in taking Beaver County to the next level”.
Diakite received alot of assistance with his recruitment from Rasool Hajj and the Urban Sports Rescue Program (USR). The USR has shown a sincere effort to assist student/athletes move on to the college ranks and has been a valuable asset for many.
Star Power has arrived to the Runhouse-Hoops program by way of 6′ 7″ swingman Reggie Agbeko. The Ashanti Assassin continues to prove he is serious about playing basketball in the USA by leading his St Joe’s team to a 69 - 48 win over St Francis. Agbeko’s stats for the game read 16 points, 18 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals. Not bad for a kid with only about 35 games to his name.
Agbeko came back 3 days later with 11pts and 10 rebounds in a 67 - 57 win over 4th ranked Canisus. Foul trouble limited his minutes in this game but he still provided a steady influence and was tough down the stretch.
Reggie, the team back in Ghana is cheering mightily for you and say to keep those double doubles coming.
Agbeko is currently averaging 17 ppg and 11 rpg.
The Runhouse-Hoops Project is a joint venture between Runhouse.net and Cape Coast Hoops. We identify and recruit the top talent in West Africa for play in the USA.
The Runhouse-Hoops team has landed a top player in Ghana for the start of 2011. Enoch Borsah, 6′ 5″ swingman, from Tema is in camp and ready for action. Borsah is one of the top players in Ghana. Dominant on the wing and post he can give a team alot of options. We will be working with him for placement in the upcoming year.
This is a highlight clip of the gifted player.
UPDATE!!!: We are pleased to announce that Enoch Borsah has accepted a junior college scholarship. A press release will be posted later in the week with full details.
Our Runhouse-Hoops project is composed of players from our West African pipeline at Cape Coast Hoops. This weeks player of the week is none other than Daniel Armah. His games in the last two weeks have included a 16 pt and 16 rebound game vs Rockhurst and a 21 pt and 13 rebound game vs Neuman.

Kilgore, Texas - 6 October 2009 - Angsomwine has made the verbal commitment to become a student athlete at Oral Roberts University next season after completion of his Associates Degree at Kilgore Junior College. He is a great student and will be a great fit for the ORU campus & the Tulsa community
Daniel Armah, aka “The Accra Assassin”, got a chance to show Lakeland’s coach Cedric Brown his skills recently at Rick Ball’s Juco Showcase in Chicago.
Armah not only was the leading rebounder but also finished as the 3rd leading scorer. Coach Brown was very pleased with his newest recruit and has alot of confidence in his ability.
Speaking with Coach Brown last week also revealed that Armah has had a growth spurt and is now a legitimate 6′ 7″. When asked about the growth Armah simply replied “I hope I grow to 6′ 8″. We hope you grow as well Dan and feel confident you will have a breakout season with Lakeland.
